DAIR 380 Rules

The Delta ASA Indoor Round (DAIR) tournament rules apply in all instances with the following exceptions:


A.  Each DAIR 380 Round is comprised of ten (10) three (3) arrow ends.
B.  An official tournament below State level consists of at least one (1) round of ten (10) completed ends of three (3) arrows per end. 
C.  An official tournament at State level and above will consist of at least two (2) rounds of ten (10) completed ends of three (3) arrows per end.
D.  A maximum of three (3) arrows are allowed to be shot during any regular individual tournament practice end or competition end.
E.  Any archer who shoots more than the allowed number of arrows during a competition end will forfeit the score of the highest scoring arrow(s) and count only the score for the lowest three (3) scoring arrows. 
F.  All targets will be the paper Indoor 3D Practice Target manufactured by Delta Targets that features the ASA Pro 12-Ring? and Pro 14-Ring? set at a distance of twenty (20) yards. 
G.  Targets will have a small circle, approximately the size of a penny, in the center of each 12 ring and the 14 ring scoring areas. These “pennies” count 1/100th of a point and will be used as a tie-breaker to determine a winner.
H.  Maximum score per end is 38 points plus 3 “pennies”, or 38.03.  The maximum score for a ten end round is 380 and 30 cents or 380.30.
I.  The “penny count” or “who has the most change” will determine the winner.  In a case where the overall score is tied (score and “change” are tied), a one arrow shoot-off will be conducted and the archer whose arrow is closest to the center of the lower 12 ring, regardless of score will be declared the winner.

Shooting Time Allowed

A.  Shooting time allowed during the DAIR 380 is one and one half minutes for each three (3) arrow end.
B.  In all matches a ten (10) second time period is allowed from the command to move to the shooting line and the time to fire.  This time limit is strictly enforced.  There must be a countdown timer or stopwatch used to keep the time.  If the timer or clock is not visible competitors must be warned when five (5) seconds are remaining.  At the end of the ten (10) second time the command to shoot will be given.  Any competitor who has not taken a position on the shooting line will forfeit any time that passes and arrows not shot will be forfeited.
C.  Each three (3) arrow individual competition end, including official practice ends, for a double shooting line, will be concluded in no more than seven (7) minutes and twenty (20) seconds.  This includes shooting time and time to score and pull arrows.
D.  Each ten (10) end thirty (30) arrow competition round, including two (2) official practice ends will be completed in sixty eight (68) minutes or one (1) hour eight (8) minutes, for a single shooting line from the beginning of Official Practice, and in eighty eight (88) minutes or one (1) hour twenty eight (28) minutes for a double shooting line.
E.  Any arrow shot after the cease fire announcement will result in the forfeit of the highest scoring arrow(s) for that end, even if less than three (3) arrows are shot since the cease fire command is given after shooting time has expired.
F.  Shoot off and head-to-head elimination round shooting time will be twenty (20) seconds per arrow with competitors alternating shots (finals matches). A coin toss will decide who shoots first in tie-break matches.
G.  Each elimination round match end will be completed in six (6) minutes and ten (10) seconds.  Each elimination round match will be completed in twelve (12) minutes and twenty (20) seconds.  The elimination round event will be finished in forty nine (49) minutes and twenty (20) seconds.  No practice ends are allowed for elimination round matches.

Scoring Rules

A.  Score cards will have locations to annotate hits in the 14-ring, 12-rings, 10-ring and 8-ring scoring areas, the total for each end and the running total. 
B.  The 12-rings and 14-ring scoring areas will have a penny-sized bonus area that is counted as 1/100th of a point.
C.  Each 12 ring and the 14 ring may be counted once during an end, but if multiple arrows are shot into a single 12 ring or the 14 ring, only one arrow may be awarded that score.  The remaining arrow(s) must be scored as if they landed in the scoring ring that surrounds the 12 rings or the 14 ring.
D.  The 11-Ring scoring area is counted as part of the 10-Ring and only counts as ten (10) points.  A hit in the 11-Ring will be counted as a hit in the 10-Ring.
E.  Both 12 rings may be scored if hit, once each, in each end.
F.  Only one arrow will be counted for each 12 ring and the 14 ring.  All other scoring areas may be scored multiple times if struck by multiple arrows during a scoring end.  For example, 3 arrows in one 12 ring will be counted as 32 points (1 ea 12 ring and 2 ea 10 rings).  The maximum score for a competition end is thirty eight (38) points plus 3 cents (.03 points) for touching the pennies in both 12 rings and the 14 ring.  The maximum score for a competition round is three hundred eighty (380) points and 30 cents (.30 points) for touching 30 pennies during the round.

ShootDown Elimination Rounds

A.  The Tournament Director will announce which competition classes will participate in elimination rounds.  The top ranking four (4) archers in designated classes will compete in the elimination round.
B.  Each ShootDown elimination round will consist of two (2) ends of three (3) arrows each.
C.  Scoring areas may be shot in any order.
D.  Arrows used in the Elimination Round need not be numbered or have identifying marks.
E.  During elimination ends all archers will shoot targets placed on the top row.
F.  The lower ranking archer from the individual competition round will shoot first during elimination rounds.  After the first end of three (3) arrows the archer who shot the lower score for that end will shoot first unless there is a tie, then the shooting order will remain the same.
G.  During professional and semi-professional class elimination rounds the competitors will shoot alternating shots with a 20 (20) second time limit for each shot.  The time for the next competitor will begin, and that competitor may raise and draw their bow, only after the previous competitor’s arrow score has been announced.
H.  Professional elimination matches will be concluded in no more than twenty four (24) minutes per professional class.
I.  During elimination round ends, bounce-outs will be reshot at the end of the end.  The rotation will continue until each archer has shot their three (3) allowed arrows.
J.  The amateur elimination matches, if designated by the Tournament Director, will be conducted simultaneously.  All elimination round competitors will shoot simultaneously, no alternating shots,  with a one (1) minute time limit to shoot three (3) arrows, plus ten (10) seconds to move to the shooting line.  Bounce-outs will be shot before moving to the target to score and remove arrows.
K.  Amateur elimination round matches will be conducted in five (5) minutes and ten (10) seconds per match or ten (10) minutes and twenty (20) seconds per elimination round.  The amateur elimination matches will be finished in forty one (41) minutes and twenty (20) seconds for each block of classes.
L.  Amateur archers will score and retrieve their own arrows.  Any disputes over scores called will be settled by a judge before any arrows are removed from the target face.
M.  Elimination round ties will be broken by a one-arrow, closest to the center of the lower 12 ring shoot off.
